Why does the US passport status checker say my passport application?
In certain parts of the US, mail service is being delayed as a measure to reduce confidence in vote-by-mail systems and, more generally, undermine the postal service. Additionally, staff processing applications has been reduced, and processing times are slower. Give it an additional 2 weeks.
